THE FOUR DAY SCHOOL WEEK GO HERE FOR LINKS.
WELCOME!
If you want to go to the site we built to educate people about the bond, GO HERE. You will find good information, some of which we may port over to this site, such as current plans and other links. In the coming weeks we’ll be updating THIS site to talk about Salida’s educational opportunities, with a specific focus on the new high school.
If you see something you do not like about “the investment,” you will have the opportunity, through this site, to get involved and change it, or easily see how to contact someone to resolve your concern. We have met Jeff and Chuck from RLH Engineering, the owner’s representatives. They have endorsed this site and our continued approach to the simple idea that Salida can have the best schools in the state, and maybe the country, if we all embrace it. These owner’s reps recognize that good information and communication will make their job easier, since an informed community will feel confident in the project that they are charged to oversee.
Moreover, this site will live beyond the building of the high school. It should empower you to have the confidence that we, the community are embracing education. That’s all for now. Look for more info including committee sign up sheets and contact information soon. Thank you Salida!
Do you want to be involved in Education Salida? or get on our mailing list? drop us a note. Do you see typos on the site? Don’t blame the great teachers, let us know. -Admin

He shows the power of interactive exercises, and calls for teachers to consider flipping the traditional classroom script -- give students video lectures to watch at home, and do "homework" in the classroom with the teacher available to help.
Bill Gates on How State Budgets are Breaking US Schools.
America's school systems are funded by the 50 states. In this fiery talk, Bill Gates says that state budgets are riddled with accounting tricks that disguise the true cost of health care and pensions and weighted with worsening deficits -- with the financing of education at the losing end.
